I did this painting almost a year ago. My feelings on the earthquakes that hit Christchurch were heart felt. Then, I read about the Wizard of Christchurch losing his home and his place of employment, so to speak. It was outside the famous church in Christchurch that crumbled.
How do you go about painting something as devastating as that? I have always been a bit morbid, so hence the hanging man. Why not, people lost everything, anyway, I have no idea why I painted the wizard this way, maybe you can tell me? He really exists you know and I hope he is okay.
